The conference center of Zijin Mountain Villa welcomed nearly 400 pathologists.
On the morning of the 11th, the 2017 Jiangsu Provincial Pathology Academic Conference successfully commenced.

The two-day conference gathered many experts with continuous highlights. Professors such as Maode Lai from China Pharmaceutical University, Anjia Han from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Xiaojun Zhou from Nanjing General Hospital, Xuemo Fan from California, USA, and Zhihong Zhang from Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital delivered special lectures. They deeply interpreted the diagnosis and challenges of tumor pathology based on their own work experience, and discussed related new technologies, concepts, and evaluation standards. Representatives actively asked questions, creating a lively atmosphere.

Difficult case discussions are a classic segment of pathology conferences, with many hospitals actively participating. The conference selected 49 difficult and key cases for discussion and exchange. The presenting units carefully prepared case PPTs, detailing the conventional HE morphology, immunopathology, and/or molecular pathology auxiliary test results of each key case, including follow-up results and literature review. Subsequently, 13 experts including Qinhe Fan, Xiaojun Zhou, Zhihong Zhang, Fanqing Meng, Qunli Shi, Xuewen Gu, and Qichang Yang provided comments and answered questions, teaching key points of differentiation and diagnostic considerations. The venue atmosphere was lively and orderly, with many representatives expressing great benefit.

During the same period, the conference also set up a technical subgroup session. Over a dozen lecturers, including Weiming Zhang and Guoxin Song from the Pathology Department of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, Hongyan Wu and Qiang Zhou from Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, Yan Chen from Jiangsu Cancer Hospital, and Xuan Wang from Nanjing General Hospital, gave special reports and comments on pathology laboratory construction, immunohistochemistry, conventional paraffin section preparation, quality control, and pathology technician training, fully demonstrating the academic level of Jiangsu pathologists.

Although the weather gradually turned cooler, there was a group of passionate pathologists here, bringing an academic warmth to the tranquil Zijin Mountain with their enthusiasm. Maixin immersed itself in this atmosphere, participated in exchanges, and also showcased Maixin’s style to the experts. We sincerely hope that academic progress accelerates, we can do more, and ideals come closer to reality. Through continuous exchange and progress, Maixin will, as always, use innovation and technology to safeguard the advancement and development of pathology.
