The much-anticipated 2019 Chinese Pathology Annual Conference has finally opened in Zhengzhou. We believe that the attending teachers have already planned their course schedules and are now moving among the various venues, engaged in intensive learning. Opening of the Annual Conference

To implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s theme education on “staying true to the original aspiration and keeping the mission firmly in mind,” the pathology community across the country has united to strive to push the development of China’s pathology事业 to new heights and contribute to the strategic goal of achieving comprehensive national health. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the motherland, all standing committee members of the Chinese Society of Pathology of the Chinese Medical Association waved red flags and sang “Me and My Motherland,” expressing the patriotic sentiments of pathology workers. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Liang Zhiyong, and Executive Chairman Professor Li Wencai delivered a welcome speech, warmly greeting pathology colleagues on behalf of the host.

Academician Bian Xiuwu announced the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award for China’s pathology事业 and the Outstanding Young Scholar Award. The recipients were Professor Zhang Yue’e, Professor Xu Qingzhong, and Dr. Lin Yuan. Through video presentations, the audience appreciated and listened to their inspiring stories and was deeply encouraged and moved. Professor Bu Hong, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Pathology of the Chinese Medical Association, introduced the overview of this annual conference, summarized the past year, reviewed the work of the past three years, and put forward suggestions for future work.

Image Recognition Competition

On the first day of the conference, the Second China Pathology Young Elite Image Recognition Competition was in full swing. Thirty-six elites from across the country, relying on solid professional knowledge and keen observation, competed fiercely in the Zhengzhou finals, setting off waves of academic competition. After multiple rounds of intense contests, the Shen City Rising Star Team from Shanghai won the championship of this competition.
