The 13th Annual Conference of Chinese Pathologists and the 11th Asia-Pacific International Congress of Pathology Successfully Held in Hefei in 2019


Preface:


In the golden autumn of October, with osmanthus fragrance in the air, the long-awaited 13th Chinese Pathologists Annual Conference and the 11th Asia-Pacific International Congress of Pathology were successfully held from October 9 to 14, 2019, in Hefei, a city known as the “lips and teeth of Jiangnan, the throat of Huaiyou,” embracing the beautiful Chaohu Lake.



Part 1

13th Chinese Pathologists Annual Conference

This year’s Pathologists Annual Conference focused on in-depth exchanges on issues such as “the positioning and connotation of pathology discipline construction, the training of pathologists, and the exploration and development of molecular pathology and intelligent pathology.” It discussed the positioning of pathology in the new era, analyzed the current status and challenges of the discipline, clarified its cutting-edge areas and development directions, enriched the connotation of pathology, and showcased the style of the new generation of pathologists and the new atmosphere of the pathology field through diverse forms and content.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Academician Bian Xiuwu, the conference chairman, introduced in his speechIn recent yearsthe construction and development of clinical pathology in China. He stated that Chinese pathologists are actively engaged in the Healthy China strategy, continuously demonstrating to all sectors of society theimportancestatus of pathology, striving to play the role of pathology in the overall development of medicine. He hoped that through this conference, while sharing the academic feast of pathology, everyone could deepen communication and cooperation, and jointly envision a bright future for pathology.

In addition, the conference also commended the 2019 “Outstanding Young Pathologists” and “Excellent Conference Papers,” aiming to stimulate innovation capabilities and promote the growth of top-notch pathology talents.


Part 2

11th Asia-Pacific International Congress of Pathology

On the morning of October 12, the 11th Asia-Pacific International Congress of Pathology was successfully opened under the chairmanship of Academician Bian Xiuwu.Thisconferencewith the theme “Next-Generation Diagnostic Pathology and Personalized Medicine,” aimed to promote the development of pathology in China and enhance exchanges and cooperation between Chinese pathologists and international pathology colleagues.

The conference invited internationally renowned pathology experts such as Roland Schwarting, Pancras C.W. Hogendoorn, Daniel J Brat, Jeremy P. Segal, Bian Xiuwu, and Liu Jinsong to deliver keynote speeches. It also invited nearly 70 internationally renowned pathology experts from over 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Israel, to present conference reports and special topics.

Numerous experts and scholars from various subspecialties of pathology, along with participants, engaged in extensive and in-depth exchanges in fields such as neuropathology, gastrointestinal pathology, urogenital pathology, breast pathology, thoracic pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology, digital and artificial intelligence pathology. This made significant contributions to promoting international academic exchanges, enhancing the international influence of Chinese pathology, and fostering the long-term development of pathology in China.

Part 3

Maxim in the “Two Conferences”
