World CupIt has begun, the Dragon Boat Festival holiday is here, and Father’s Day is approaching. These three unrelated moments have magically converged. What kind of spark will they ignite with pathologists? Inspired by a flash of insight, thoughts flowed freely, and I spontaneously created a two-part lyrical scenario, dedicated to those pathology colleagues who are devoted to pathology, work selflessly, and have no time to care for their families or accompany their parents.

The fragrance of handmade zongzi from my hometown during the Dragon Boat Festival and Father’s Day still lingers in my memory,

The shouts of dragon boat races still echo,

The family, gathered together, wrapping zongzi,

My father told me,

The Dragon Boat Festival is a day to commemorate Qu Yuan,

When I grow up, I should also strive to be a person who benefits society.

Yet everything seems like a blurry silhouette, fading further away.

Now, as a medical practitioner,

Although time is a bit scarce,

Clinical reports are a bit more urgent,

Nerves are a bit more tense,

Responsibilities are a bit heavier,

But, it is the accumulation of these little bits,

That allows me to proudly say aloud,

I am a pathologist,

Father never speaks love to his children,

Yet he gives his entire life.

Busy every day with sectioning, reading slides,

Keeping company with microscopes,

Accompanied by formaldehyde.

The busyness of work,

Prevents me from being by your side at all times.
