Great News: Maxin Tops the 2017 Shanghai Immunohistochemistry Quality Control and Competition
Good News
To standardize the application of immunohistochemistry in pathological diagnosis and effectively improve the quality of immunohistochemistry, on March 30, 2017, the 2017 Shanghai Immunohistochemistry Assessment and Competition, organized by the Shanghai Clinical Pathology Quality Control Center and hosted by the Pathology Technology Group of the Shanghai Medical Association Pathology Branch, kicked off the city-wide immunohistochemistry quality control and competition by distributing slides jointly issued by the Shanghai Clinical Pathology Quality Control Center and the Shanghai Pathology Technology Group.

This event selected six antibodies, including ER, PR, HER2, EGFR, CK5/6, and PD-L1, as assessment indicators. Participants independently chose antibody clone numbers, detection systems, and staining methods to stain the slides. Following the principle of “ranking by score, with higher scores prioritized” established by the organizing committee before the assessment, 16 experts from Shanghai Cancer Hospital conducted the evaluation. Among them, 10 pathology experts from the Breast Group of the Quality Control Center were responsible for reviewing ER, PR, and HER2; six experts from the Shanghai Medical Pathology Branch were responsible for evaluating CK5/6, EGFR, and PD-L1. The technical group was responsible for on-site score tallying, computer entry, overall ranking, and reviewing the evaluation results.
This event involved 111 participants from 98 institutions nationwide, lasting over a month. After strict, standardized, and meticulous review by the expert team and rigorous re-evaluation by the technical group, the Maixin team, represented by Zhou Honghui from our company, stood out with a comprehensive score of 835, ranking first. Both the assessment staining and result interpretation received unanimous praise from the expert panel. Additionally, our company’s products performed outstandingly in the staining assessment competition for all six indicators and were selected as recommended optimal staining solutions.
