
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a giant in pathology, the pioneer and founder of experimental research on cancer cell metastasis biology in China, former Director of the Department of Pathology at Peking University Health Science Center, Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Chinese Pathology,” and the forever mentor of Maxin—Professor Wu Bingquan. He passed away due to illness on June 21, 2020, at the age of 90. Maxin expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Professor Wu Bingquan and extends sincere sympathies to his family.
We are grateful to Professor Wu Bingquan for over 60 years of silent dedication and a craftsman’s heart in pathology, devoting his life’s work to the cause of pathology in China, nurturing a large number of outstanding pathology talents, with remarkable achievements.
With the professor’s passing, the world mourns the loss of a master; his legacy endures forever, celebrating the spirit of medicine. We will always remember Professor Wu Bingquan, cherish his spirit of dedication and lifelong struggle, and with firmer confidence and higher morale, earnestly fulfill our duties, live up to our mission, complete his unfinished work, and strive hard for the development and progress of pathology in China.
