Fujian Provincial Hospital Pathology Department Hosts Pathology Academic Salon—Professor Zhou Xiaoge Visits Fuzhou for Guidance and Lectures

In the early winter of Fujian, the lingering melancholy of autumn, carrying a touch of winter’s vicissitudes, quietly arrives.
On the weekend, in the conference room of the Pathology Department at Fujian Provincial Hospital, the enthusiasm for learning from pathology colleagues who came from all directions filled this winter with the warmth of hope. The meeting was chaired by Professor Chen Xiaoyan, Director of the Pathology Department at Fujian Provincial Hospital and head of the Fujian Provincial Quality Control Center. Professor Zhou Xiaoge, who traveled from afar, gathered with everyone for close, face-to-face exchanges and delivered a keynote report on “EBV-related T/NK Cell Lymphoid Tissue Diseases.” He elaborated on the characteristics, key points, and difficulties in the diagnosis of EBV virus infection-related lymphoid tissue diseases, with a focus on the differential diagnosis of pediatric systemic EBV+ lymphoproliferative disorders. He also shared challenging diagnostic cases from clinical practice, such as infectious mononucleosis lymphadenitis caused by acute EBV infection. In the subsequent difficult case slide reading and discussion session, Professor Zhou Xiaoge engaged in lively discussions with everyone on challenging cases brought by major hospitals in Fujian Province, and various experts and professors provided brilliant comments and guidance.



This academic salon attracted active participation from many local pathology teachers in Fuzhou, as well as pathology department teachers from Xiamen, Ningde, and other cities who came specifically to learn. After the meeting, the teachers expressed that they benefited greatly, praising the event format as excellent and very down-to-earth. It not only provided learning opportunities for pathologists within the province but also built a bridge for communication between pathologists and authoritative experts, laying a solid foundation for improving the level of pathological diagnosis across the province.
