Undoubtedly, it is a model in the industry with superb medical skills, saving lives and healing the wounded, selfless dedication, and respect for life.” On August 9, the Third National Renowned Doctors Ceremony (2019), guided by the People’s Daily and hosted by People’s Daily Online and Health Times, was held in Beijing. 304 outstanding doctor representatives from various domestic disciplines were selected for the Third National Renowned Doctors Series List.

National Great Doctor • Special Tribute

Professor Ding Huaye

Born in May 1948, former Director of the Pathology Department at the Seventh Clinical Medical Center of the General Hospital of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, recipient of special government allowance. Served as Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the 10th Chinese Society of Pathology, Standing Director of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, etc. Has reviewed over 200,000 pathological diagnosis slides, with an annual consultation of over 2,000 difficult breast pathology cases. Recognized as the national chief expert in diagnosing difficult breast diseases, enjoying a good reputation and high regard. Founded and served as editor-in-chief of the “Journal of Diagnostic Pathology,” authored over 350 academic papers, edited or co-edited more than ten monographs, and received over 40 military and local awards for scientific and technological progress or clinical achievements.

National Renowned Doctor •Outstanding Achievement

Professor Lu Dehong

Born in August 1955, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor in the Pathology Department of Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, Standing Committee Member and Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Pathology, Standing Director of the Asian and Oceanian Association of Neuropathology. Specializes in clinical pathological diagnosis of neurological diseases; established a standardized diagnosis and treatment system for refractory epilepsy. Patients with difficult neurological cases from across the country seek consultations, earning unanimous trust and high praise for his superb medical skills. Published over 200 core journal and SCI papers, received the Third Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the Beijing Model Teacher Pioneer Award.

Youth New Star

Professor Wang Zhe

Born in January 1970, Director of the Pathology Department at Xijing Hospital, Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Pathology, Vice President of the Chinese Pathologists Association, Deputy Director of the Tumor Pathology Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. Specializes in pathological diagnosis of lymphohematopoietic system, soft tissue, and male urogenital system diseases, having completed over 30,000 difficult pathological diagnoses and consultations, and led the formulation of lymphoma pathological diagnosis guidelines. Discovered, named, and reported a new tumor pathological type: inflammatory monomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma. Received the “Sanqin Talent” award in Shaanxi Province. Published 93 SCI papers with 1,031 citations.
