Gathering in Guang’an, Discussing Pathology—A Direct Look at the Successful Opening of the 2016 Western Outreach of the Chinese Society of Pathology and the Chongqing Society of Pathology Annual Academic Conference

      To further promote the development of pathology in the western region and strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation, the “2016 Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch Western Tour and Chongqing Medical Association Pathology Academic Annual Conference,” organized by the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch and the Chongqing Medical Association Pathology Professional Committee, and hosted by West China Guang’an Hospital of Sichuan University, was successfully held from July 29 to 31 in Guang’an, Sichuan, the hometown of the great leader Deng Xiaoping. Over 400 pathology representatives from across the country and 28 manufacturers attended the conference.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Bu Hong, the incoming Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch and Vice President of Sichuan University. Opening speeches were delivered by Professor Bian Xiuwu, Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch and Director of the Pathology Department at Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University, and Chen Quanlu, Vice Mayor of Guang’an Municipal People’s Government. Members of the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch, members of the Chongqing Medical Association Pathology Professional Committee, standing committee members of the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch, and invited experts from Hong Kong, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, and other regions took a group photo together.

       The conference lasted for two and a half days. Fifteen experts, including Professor Wang Enhua from China Medical University, Professor Zhou Xiaojun from Nanjing Military General Hospital, Professor Zhang Xianghong from Hebei Medical University, Professor Sun Baocun from Tianjin University Cancer Hospital, Professor Liu Dongge from Beijing Hospital of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Professor Lu Dehong from Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, Professor Lu Zhaohui from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor Chen Yonghong from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Wei Bing from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Zhao Yong from Chongqing Medical University, Professor Yan Hai from Duke University Medical Center in the United States, Professor Teng Xiaodong from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Professor Li Wencai from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Professor Liang Zhiyong from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and Professor Yan Xiaochu from Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University, provided detailed interpretations and exchanges on cutting-edge hotspots in various pathology fields, as well as common issues and solutions in daily pathological diagnosis work. They explored the problems and development directions of the pathology industry from multiple perspectives, greatly benefiting the attendees. Additionally, during the conference, the Standing Committee Meeting of the Chinese Medical Association Pathology Branch, the Plenary Meeting of the Chongqing Pathology Professional Committee, the 2016 Chongqing Pathology Academic Annual Conference Graduate Forum, and the Pathology Technology Group Meeting were held simultaneously.

At this conference, Maixin Company was invited to participate. In addition to sponsoring conference materials and assisting with some organizational tasks, the company set up a booth to prominently promote the Maixin immunohistochemical staining system Titan and registered products. During the conference, the Maixin booth attracted numerous representatives for exchanges, and the products received attention and recognition from the attendees. As a well-known domestic producer of pathology diagnostic reagents, Maixin has always been concerned with the development of pathology in the western region and actively and continuously participates in the Western Tour academic conferences, contributing modestly to the advancement of pathology in the western region.
