2019 National Pathology Technology Conference Concludes Successfully – “Immunohistochemistry Training, Maixin Achieves Outstanding Results”

Preface:

The 2019 National Pathology Technology Conference, organized by the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Society of Pathology, and hosted by the Technical Group of the Chinese Society of Pathology and the Zhejiang Provincial Clinical Pathology Quality Control Center, was successfully held from August 1st to 4th, 2019, in Hangzhou, a city renowned as “Paradise on Earth” for its picturesque and beautiful scenery. Over 500 experts and pathology colleagues from across the country participated in this grand event.

This conference was rich in content and innovative in format. Next, please follow our editor to review the highlights of the conference!

PART 1 Immunohistochemistry Technology Training

To promote the development of immunohistochemistry technology nationwide and facilitate mutual exchange and learning among pathology colleagues,On August 2nd,the conference conducted immunohistochemistry technology training activities, combining theoretical lectures with hands-on technical practice on-site.staining operations were performed onHer2、four antibodies: Ki-67, SMA, and PMS2, andexperts from the Zhejiang Provincial ClinicalPathology Quality Control Center conducted on-site grouping and evaluation.

Maxin was invited to participate in this immunohistochemistry hands-on training activity and was responsible for the technical instruction of 48 trainees in two groups on-site. To better accomplish this training task, colleagues from Maxin’s technical department made extensive and thorough preparations during the planning period. Their efforts paid off. Through professional technical guidance and rigorous, standardized technical operations,all 48 trainees in the Maxin group passed the assessment, and among the29 trainees rated as excellent in this staining operation, 12 were from the groups instructed by Maxin.

It is also worth mentioning that the Her2 and Ki-67 antibodies used by Maxin in this evaluation were both self-developed monoclonal antibodies. Moreover, Her2, as a companion diagnostic product, has obtained a Class III registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration.

Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.The achievement of these outstanding resultsOnce again, Maxin’s excellent product performance was verified in practice, shining on the national technical stage and receiving widespread recognition and praise from pathology colleagues. Maxin feels deeply proud and gratified.

PART 2 Academic Conference

On August 3rd, the academic conference officially commenced. Wang Wenyong, head of the Technical Group of the Chinese Society of Pathology, announced the opening of the conference. Professor Sun Wenyong from Zhejiang Cancer Hospitaldelivered the opening address,extended a warm welcome to all the experts and pathology colleagues present. Vice President Chen Ming of Zhongda Hospital affiliated with Southeast University, Professor Bu Hong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Teng Xiaodong from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, and Professor Sun Baocun from Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, wishing the conference a complete success.

The conference schedule was intensive, covering various aspects including routine tissue processing and section preparation, special staining and histochemical techniques, immunohistochemistry technology and new developments, molecular pathology technology, pathology technology quality control, and laboratory informatization construction and management. It was truly an academic feast.

During the conference, the excellent lectures by various expert teachers attracted the rapt attention of the vast number of participants. During the Q&A sessions, the atmosphere was lively, sparking enthusiastic discussions, reflecting the diligent and striving spirit of Chinese pathologists. Participants expressed that they benefited greatly and gained a deeper understanding of pathology technology.

PART 3 Closing Ceremony

At the conclusion of the conference, Professor Ni Xinghao, Executive Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Clinical Pathology Quality Control Center, presented certificates to the 230 trainees who passed the immunohistochemistry technology training.

PART 4 Maxin at the Conference

Since its establishment, Maxin has been committed to bringing immunohistochemistry technology to every pathology department in China.For over twenty years, this original aspiration has remained unchanged.
